The Rimaux-De Ridder farm brewery was established in 1844 in Tourpes. In 1920, Louis Dupont an agricultural engineer whose father purchased petite ferme avec brasserie for him in hopes his son would stay in Belgium. That farm continues to this day and not only produces some of Belgium's best and most popular beers but cheeses as well.
Rated the "Top 10 Beer of 2010" Saison Dupont is a wonderful straw color with dense creamy head with citrus and spice notes. A piquant, peppery hop bitterness is rounded out by green apple, sugared grapefruit, and an unyielding yeast character. Full bodied and malty. Finish is zesty hop and citrus attack.
Foret and Foret Blanche were introduced to the U.S. market over a decade ago. It is Belgium's first 100% certified organic beer. Brewed from 100% organically cultivated hops and barley and filtered artesian well water. Foret has a complex taste blend of fruit, coriander, cinnamon, vanilla, pepper, figs and a hint of toffee. Finish is long, zesty, malty and spicy.
Foret Blanche has less alcohol content than Foret but is organic as well. Foret Blanche has an amazing texture on the palate, creamy carbonation with hints of lemon rind, poached spiced pears and papaya. Foret Blanche is a foggy golden honeycomb color and you'll pick up hints of orange, coriander, white pepper, lavender and hibiscus. Great with food especially seafood and spicy Thai dishes.
